Choosing a monitor
The 5 best home blood pressure monitors for most people
Five upper-arm blood pressure monitors you can actually buy worldwide, ranked by price-to-performance, simplicity and features.
A good home monitor needs three things: validated accuracy, an upper-arm cuff that fits you, and a design you will actually use daily. Every pick below is sold by a major brand with worldwide distribution and is clinically validated or FDA-cleared. Prices are indicative, observed September 2026, and vary by country.
1. Omron M3 Comfort — best overall
The monitor that fixes the two most common causes of a bad reading: wrong cuff placement and inconsistent routine.
- 360° Intelli Wrap Cuff (22–42 cm) works in any position, so cuff placement errors stop mattering, and it fits more arms.
- Averages your last three readings and stores 120 readings for two users.
- Irregular heartbeat detection; five-year warranty.
- No app, no charging, no pairing. Sold through Omron's network almost everywhere.
If you buy one monitor and want it to work for everyone in the house, this is it.
2. iHealth Track — best budget smart monitor
A clinically validated monitor (ISO 81060-2) with Bluetooth app syncing for about $40—unmatched price to performance.
- Syncs readings to the iHealth app automatically.
- Irregular heartbeat detection and WHO color-coded classification.
- One-size-fits-most wide cuff, up to 8 users.
The catch: availability is thinner than Omron's, so check it is sold in your country first.
3. Omron HEM-7120 — best ultra-budget
One of the best-selling monitors in the world, ESH-IP validated, and ubiquitous across Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
- One-button operation. Nothing to learn.
- Cuff wrapping guide and body movement detection—rare at this price.
- Irregular heartbeat detection.
It stores only the most recent reading, so write every result down immediately. Cuff fits 22–32 cm arms; check yours first.
4. Withings BPM Connect — best app experience
The most polished connected monitor: readings sync over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to the Health Mate app, even without your phone nearby.
- FDA-cleared, rechargeable battery lasting months.
- Color-coded LED results based on WHO categories.
- Up to eight users, each syncing to their own account.
The most expensive pick here, and the tiny LED bar is no substitute for a real display.
5. Omron Evolv — best for travel
The whole monitor is built into the cuff: no tubes, no wires, clinically validated and FDA-cleared.
- The most portable upper-arm monitor you can buy.
- Intelli Wrap Cuff, like the M3 Comfort.
Know before you buy: there is no screen. Every reading appears only in the Omron Connect app, so it is unusable without a compatible smartphone, and battery life is short. Great for frequent travelers; a poor choice for everyone else.
Not recommended, despite good reviews
- Microlife BP B3 AFIB — excellent AFib screening and 3-read averaging, but prescription-only in the US.
- A&D UA-651 and Beurer BM 28 — solid and validated, but the picks above beat them on price to performance.
The short version
Buy the Omron M3 Comfort if you want one device that works for everyone. Buy the iHealth Track if you want app syncing on a budget, the HEM-7120 if you want the cheapest validated option, BPM Connect for the best app, and the Evolv only if you travel constantly.
Whichever you choose, take it to your next appointment and have a clinician compare it against their equipment once.
